Armament: Torpedoes
Countermeasure: Flares
For this mission, it is imperative that you select a flight from Green Squadron. These are the only crafts that you get flexibility and choice from in terms of your flying capabilities. When you first begin the mission, hit 'R' and target the nearest TIE Interceptor. Your objective should be to disable as many as possible - especially the ones targeting Gold Squadron. Moreover, while the Imperial Frigate only has two squadrons of TIE Interceptors, they are armed with concussion missiles.
Within the first few minutes you will encounter Gunboats from Tau Squadron hyperring in. While Rogue Squadron will provide some cover, these will be dangerous for your Assault Transports so be sure to disable these quickly. You now have a choice: disable the three freighters and support your transports or make runs on the Frigate. In order to maintain crowd control and superiority, I would recommend disabling the freighters and protecting the transports. (Note: Do not forget to inspect the freighters for points.)
Once the gunboats have been taken care of, disable and destroy any remaining Interceptors as they will also make runs against the transports. This should also leave you with the ability to make multiple attack runs on the Frigate. Hit "J" to toggle between crafts while dumb firing your torpedoes at the Frigate. You can also make use of hyperspace to get a new B-wing when you run out of torpedoes. Disable the Frigate before it makes its run to hyperspace.
If there are any freighters that have not been successfully captured, the Frigate will begin to launch repair crew shuttles. Order your wingmen to wait respectively while you inspect, disable, and destroy these for additional points. Be sure to destroy the Frigate as well. All this should award you with 68,000+ points.
Congratulations on your new Top Performance!
